According to police, Senior Airman Joren William Ladd, 22, who is based at U.S. Kadena Air Base, is accused of driving while intoxicated near an intersection on a national road here around 10:15 p.m. on July 23.

He crashed into an idling car, which had stopped to let pedestrians cross the road, and a breath test showed he was more than five times over the legal alcohol limit.
